becomingSLUG
our embrace will be wet.
with sticky fingers we reach for one another
our skin is barely touching and yet our touch goes deep,
leaving traces on each other, irreversible alterations.
we are united in our slippery play
our bodies become interfaces for our desire
time stretches, becomes viscous like the fluid connecting us.
a cycle begins,
of externalization and internalization,
pouring and slurping,
cum and swallow.
becomingSLUGS researches the potential of bodily fluids and their exchange as a practice of radical intimacy that transgresses physical boundaries. Through this, the project aims to challenge the concept of the body as a singular unit and enclosed entity. As an alternative, it presents a corporal ecosystem, a network of bodies that are in constant exchange with another. Every touch means being touched and therefore being altered and transformed.
Thommy Kraft
Thommy Kraft is a visual theater maker, mover and puppeteer based in the Netherlands. Their artistic background is located in Visual Theatre and Puppetry as well as in Mime. Within their work, Thommy is constantly searching to combine elements of visual and physical theatre to create hybrid forms that consist of moving bodies and animated material. At this moment, their primary interest is centered around themes of queer identity, community building and physical intimacy, as well as their personal relationship to masculinity. Sensitivity and an open curiosity are core qualities and guiding principles of the work on a conceptual as well as physical level.
Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam
From March 25 to 30, the Plein Theater and Cat Smits Company present the fourth edition of the International Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam!
Since 2022, Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam has offered a stage to queer perspectives through groundbreaking forms of visual theater, object theater and puppetry. This quirky festival defies the norm with a motley and bold program full of exuberant, visual outburst from the Netherlands and abroad.
The theme of QPFA 2025, CREATING BODIES, challenges us to see bodies not as just given, but as something that is constantly being created, shaped and defined — by ourselves, by others, by systems and structures, both political and cultural.
