Recap // 17 APR // Opening Expo: Cas Oorthuys: De Ondergedoken Camera

On 17 April, we opened a new exhibition with photos by Cas Oorthuys in the Plein Theater. These are works that Cas Oorthuys made during the Second World War. Head theatre technician at the Plein Theater, his son Frank Oorthuys, exhibits the photos in the foyer of our theater in the context of 80 years of peace in the Netherlands.

Photographer/resistance fighter Cas Oorthuys was affiliated with ‘De Ondergedoken Camera’ (The Hidden Camera) in the last year of the war. This was a well-organized group of photographers who documented the war - mostly from underground. In May of this year, this collection will become part of the Unesco World Heritage.

Around 3, 4 and 5 May and in the period up to and including the finissage on 24 May, there will be various activities and talks. The exhibition can be viewed from Tuesday to Friday during office hours (from 12 noon) and at the weekend when there is a performance.
