Wat wil jouw koelkast? Of de bacteriën in je lichaam? Hebben objecten een geheugen? Choreograaf en multidisciplinaire kunstenaar Luis A. Lara Malvacías en componist Ivo Bol onderzoeken deze vragen in hun nieuwe samenwerking, waarbij ze objecten en dingen uitnodigen als actieve deelnemers. Landscape 3 OeOEe is geïnspireerd door het idee van ‘hyperobjects’ – entiteiten zoals een zwart gat, het Amazonewoud of al het plastic in de wereld bij elkaar. Met een transdisciplinaire compositie voor 30 radio's, muzikale robots, planten, licht en video onderzoeken ze de kracht van niet-menselijke of meer dan menselijke wezens in performatieve situaties.

Luis Lara Malvacías is een Venezolaanse choreograaf en transdisciplinaire kunstenaar. Zijn werk concentreert zich op ideeën over transformatie, auteurschap en de rol van het publiek in dansvoorstellingen. Hij heeft zijn werk op veel plaatsen gepresenteerd, zoals in La Mama, the Kitchen, Danspace Project in New York, en Radial System in Berlijn.

Ivo Bol werkt met gevonden geluiden. Het zoemen van de koelkast, een vergeten cassettebandje, het gekraak van de lp voordat de muziek begint. Hij manipuleert deze geluiden tijdens optredens met planten, radio’s en hersengolven. Ivo componeert muziek voor dans- en theatervoorstellingen, filmmakers en kunstenaars in binnen- en buitenland.

What does your fridge want? How about the bacteria in your gut? Do objects have memory? Inviting objects and things as active participants, choreographer and multidisciplinary artist Luis A. Lara Malvacías and composer Ivo Bol explore these questions in their new collaboration. Landscape 3 OeOEe is inspired by the idea of “hyperobjects”—entities of such vast temporal and spatial dimensions such as a black hole, the Amazon forest, or all the plastic in the world combined. With a trans-disciplinary composition for 30 radios, musical robots, movement, plants, lights and video they will explore the “power” inherent in the presence of non-human or more than human beings in performative situations.

Luis Lara Malvacías is a Venezuelan choreographer and trans-disciplinary artist. His body of work has focused on ideas of transformation, multiplicity, authorship and the role of the audience in dance performance. He has presented his work in New York since 1995 and has performed worldwide, from conventional venues to galleries and more unconventional spaces.

Ivo Bol reworks found sounds, lost tapes, old and live electronics and excess sounds from vinyl records into new musical constellations. He performs his music using his body and mind to manipulate these sounds with light sensors, touch, gesture or brainwaves. The music of Ivo Bol is often interdisciplinary, working internationally with choreographers, light designers, artists and filmmakers.
