Between Christmas and New Year's Eve, Plein Theater & She Who Makes Noise organize a full evening program around the visual live music performance CANVAS. Celebrate the end of the year week in a festive atmosphere with a delicious Fancy Streetfood Dinner, the CANVAS performance and a smashing party after each performance!
The theme of the last days of 2023 in Plein Theater is WHITE. The color of light, new beginnings, peace and winter. The new year in prospect, blank and to be filled in like a blank canvas. A tasty three course vegan dinner will be served on sparkling white tablecloths, with which we want to celebrate this festivity with you! There is an exhibition by visual artist Jalinka Gressmann on the walls and after each performance there is the occasion to dance on various DJs at the bar. And don't forget the dress code; Something White!

CANVAS – She Who Makes Noise
In the magical combination of image and sound the visual concert 'Canvas', take the audience on a journey into the subconscious of an unknown individual. The eclectic live music performance in which influences from different music styles will pass through, will be performed by She Who Makes Noise supported by a 4-piece band. She Who Makes Noise takes the viewer through the life of a main character, a timeline of different events, memories and emotions.
She Who Makes Noise is an Amsterdam music collective, founded by a dynamic creative trio. The group always consists of these three members, but the group always changes organically with each new music project. She Who Makes Noise believes that the music should take a more prominent place than the image of the artists themselves. Their images are extremely clear, they have no color and are very dreamy, they are like a brand new canvas ready to be painted by other artists.
Fancy Streetfood Diner
Every dish from Patricia's kitchen is based on a passion for beautiful ingredients from our nature and from her heart. "Tjemplung tjemplung" as my mother said, "a little bit of this and a little bit of that"; That's how I got recipes transferred. My style? Fancy Streetfood, with a hint of my Indonesian, Moluccan roots.
PARTY with Dykes on decks
This Amsterdam based DJ Duo consists of Dj Doornroosje & Mevrouw van Bemmel.
They both started dj-ing in the underground queer club de Trut. Finding love and partnership together there, they also hooked up as DJ duo as well. Friends gave them the name Dykes on Decks which they sport with pride and a good laugh.
Their sound is a refreshing mix of old school house tracks, drum beats and new school deep house and tech house with warm vocals and funky sounds."
PARTY with DJ Cosmic Lady
At the age of 8, Cosmic Lady bought her first single 'Rock this Town' by Stray Cats, followed by all albums by Michael Jackson and Jackson 5. During her teenage years she was introduced to the acid house genre, which she played at maximum volume, much to her annoyance. parents. During her graphic design studies, she was allowed to practice beat mixing with vinyl records to her heart's content with her upstairs neighbor Steffi (resident DJ of Panorama Bar, Berlin). After purchasing her own turntables, she found her way to the public by playing in The Doors, De Schutter, De Trut, La Garconne, Spijkerbar (Lesbique) and on Milkshake. This Amsterdam-based DJ has now exchanged her vinyl for a digital table. Her sound can be described as a combination of space disco, electro, 70's & 80's, funky & soulful house.
