Bij Human Encounters programmeren we korte avontuurlijke dansperformances van talentvolle jonge makers, ervaren makers en onafhankelijk artiesten en gezelschappen. Deze editie staat er een double bill op de dansvloer met 31/20 Dance Collective & Elisa Zupinni!

HIMALAYA - Elisa Zuppini

In Himalaya beweegt danseres Federica Dalla Pozza in een hybride ruimte van geologische landschappen, sculpturen en ruïnes, ergens tussen het digitale en het organische. In deze performance wordt onderzicht hoe het menselijk lichaam zich verhoudt tot een andere realiteit en een groter geheel. In dit complexe landschap dat continue in beweging is, stelt Elisa Zuppini de vraagt: 'Wat bewegen we als we bewegen en door wat worden we bewogen?'

Elisa Zuppini (IT/NL) is choreografe en dansmaker, gevestigd in Amsterdam. Ze studeerde in juni 2018 af aan de SNDO school voor nieuwe dansontwikkeling in Amsterdam. Via haar bewegingspraktijk De.sy.re. maakt ze stukken voor verschillende locatiespecifieke ruimtes, zoals die van een club, ademische contexten, het museum, maar ook voor het theater. In het afgelopen jaar had ze, vanuit haar praktijk, artistieke uitwisselingen met verschillende beeldende kunstenaars, schrijvers en dansers.

Revival - 31/20 Dance Collective

Revival is een redenering over de overgang naar de next level. Dit is iets dat toegankelijk kan zijn voor elk individu op fysiek, emotioneel, spiritueel niveau. Wat als we dit pad deconstrueren in fasen die men doorloopt en van binnenuit observeren wat het doet met het systeem van een enkele mens? Als gevolg hiervan zoomen we in op verschillende delen van een individu en zien we hoe deze delen reageren op signalen die hun eigen systeem geeft.

Het 31/20 Dance Collective is een professionele vereniging van freelance dansers gevestigd in Amsterdam. Ze creëren een omgeving voor de vrije uitwisseling van ideeën. Op deze manier bevorderen ze de kunstvorm en ondersteunen elkaar.

HIMALAYA - Elisa Zuppini

Imagine a tectonic space in constant motion, a transformative landscape where the body mutually transforms and can be transformed. This is Himalya, a piece where the human body is continuously related to wider realities, reflecting on how we can think of the body as part of bigger systems, instead of a singular isolated one. How the perception of the body can be twisted from being an independent subject to one in constant connection and understanding with other mechanisms? How can it incorporate such different systems, so as the one of geology, understood as a slow and extemporaneous time, and the one of technology, a mechanism that travels so fast, often beyond our understanding? Both these times bring with them materialities far from the body, but that also share elements with it, since the systems are moreover always in relationship.

The aim of this piece is to shift our perception as humans to a more expanded and decentralized experience of ourselves, to think our body as an hypersensitive and transformative tool, able to constantly perceive itself in a transition from machine to geology to human flesh.

Revival - 31/20 Dance Collective

Revival is a reasoning about the transition to the next level. This is something that can be accessible for every individual on a physical, emotional, spiritual level. What if we deconstruct this path into phases one goes through and observe from the inside what it does to the system of a single human? As a result, we zoom in to different parts of an individual and see how these parts react to signs that their own system gives, can they read them?

The 31/20 Dance Collective is a professional association of freelance dancers based in Amsterdam. They create an environment for the free exchange of ideas. In this way they advance the art form- supporting one another.
