Vóór de voorstelling is er een inleidende talk door Scientist Rebellion.
Scientist Rebellion is een internationale beweging van wetenschappers die zich grote zorgen maken over de klimaat- en ecologische crisis en van mening zijn dat de wetenschappelijke gemeenschap de verantwoordelijkheid heeft om naar voren te treden en zich aan te sluiten bij de voorhoede van de klimaatbeweging. Het is een zusterorganisatie van Extinction Rebellion, en respecteert haar principes en waarden.

Dear Human Animals - Soya the Cow
Hoe verdragen we iets dat ondraaglijk is? Hoe veranderen we iets wat we niet allemaal zelf kunnen veranderen? En hoe worden we iets wat we niet zijn?
Soya the Cow probeert het onmogelijke. Als fluïde, veganistische drag cow staat ze voor liefde, vrijheid en klimaatrechtvaardigheid voor alle levende wezens. Met sterke argumenten en ontroerende liedjes daagt ze het zelfbeeld van de mens als middelpunt van het universum, waaraan alle niet-menselijke wezens ondergeschikt zijn, uit. Diep geworteld in het fundamentele ongemak van een enkel individu, overstijgt Soya de menselijke beperkingen. Ze is popster en genezer, activist en clown, heden en toekomst.
Daniel Hellmanns nieuwe solovoorstelling wordt gedragen door de kracht en belachelijkheid van zijn koevormige verlangen om de wereld te veranderen. Dear Human Animals gebruikt de theaterruimte voor de ervaring en reflectie van transformerende actie.
Gedurende het seizoen organiseert Soya the Cow verschillende workshops en excursies waarin het publiek en andere geïnteresseerde menselijke dieren kennis kunnen maken met de realiteit die de inspiratie vormde voor de creatie van Soya - van slachthuizen tot dierenopvangcentra.

Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam

Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam biedt sinds 2022 een podium aan genre-overstijgende vormen van beeldend theater en poppenspel. Een versmelting van ambacht en technologie, waarbij traditionele categorieën worden opgeheven voor het oog van de toeschouwer. Plein Theater en Puppetry Workspace trotseren de norm met dit festival vol bontgekleurde visuele uitspattingen uit binnen- en buitenland. QPFA is LGBTQI+ friendly, feministisch, activistisch en bovenal: Schitterend in eigenwijsheid!

Dit jaar ligt de focus op de thema’s het vrouwelijke en de natuur in relatie tot de maatschappij. Het festival en de programmering is pro verbinding en emancipatie, anti oorlog en macht, pro kracht en intuïtie en pro het ongeziene en onbenoembare dat onderschikt wordt geacht in de maatschappij. Vrouwelijkheid, het scheppende, het kwetsbare én Moeder Aarde.

Scientist Rebellion is an international movement of scientists who are deeply concerned about the climate and environmental crisis and believe that the scientific community has a responsibility to step forward and join the forefront of the climate movement. It is a sister organization of Extinction Rebellion, and respects its principles and values.

Dear Human Animals
How do we bear something that is unbearable? How do we change something that we cannot change all by ourselves? And how do we become something that we are not?
Soya the Cow attempts the impossible. As a species-fluid, vegan drag cow she stands for love, freedom and climate justice for all living beings. With strong arguments and moving songs she challenges the self-image of humankind as the centre of the universe, to which all non-human beings are subordinated. Deeply rooted in the fundamental discomfort of a single individual, Soya transcends human limitations. She is pop star and healer, activist and clown, present and future.
Daniel Hellmann's new solo performance is carried by the power and ridiculousness of his cow- shaped desire to change the world. Dear Human Animals uses the theatre space for the experience and reflection of transformative action.
Throughout the season, Soya the Cow will host several workshops and excursions in which the audience and other interested human animals can get to know the realities that have inspired the creation of Soya - from slaughterhouses to animal sanctuaries.

Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam

Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam offers a stage to genre-transcending forms of visual theater and puppetry since 2022. A fusion of craft and technology, where traditional categories vanish in front of the eye of the beholder. Plein Theater and Puppetry Workspace defy the norm with this festival full of colorful visual outbursts from NL and abroad. QPFA is LGBTQI+ friendly, feminist, activist and above all standing out in queerness!

This year the focus is on the themes of femininity and nature in relation to society. The festival and it’s program is pro connection and emancipation, anti war and power, pro strength and intuition, and pro the unseen and untold that is considered subordinate in society. Femininity, the creative, the vulnerable ánd Mother Earth.
