SRIBI SWITI

Een dromerige hiphop dansvoorstelling voor 4+

In een speelse droomwereld nemen twee hiphopdansers en een beatboxer je mee op een nachtelijke reis naar het land van verbeelding. Anansi (de spin) en Myra (de mier) nemen je mee op hun ontdekkingsreis naar de grote wijze kruisspin. Samen met elkaar verkennen zij een aangename wereld waarin niets is wat het lijkt en waar je dromen werkelijkheid worden. Kleuren, geluid en personages die je alleen in dromenland tegenkomt, veranderen in hetzelfde ritme als de seizoenen. Ze komen tot leven in deze fantasiewereld waarin alles lijkt te zweven.

In Sribi Switi (Surinaams voor ‘slaap lekker’) worden hiphopdansvormen zoals popping, robotics, tutting en waving live aangevuld met sounds, samples en muziek van een beatboxer. Sribi Switi is een speelse voorstelling met een universeel verhaal, geïnspireerd op zowel bekende Surinaamse- als Nederlandse kinderverhalen en -liedjes. 

LLOYDSCOMPANY 

Bij Lloydscompany van de Rotterdamse hiphoppionier Lloyd Marengo komen dansers, upcoming urban makers én de underground battle scene samen. Met voorstellingen voor theaters en festivals slaat Lloydscompany een brug tussen de straat en het podium.

In a joyful, playful dream world, two hip-hop dancers and a beatboxer take the children on a journey through the night to the land of imagination. Colours, sound and characters change in the same rhythm as the seasons and come to life in a fantasy world where everything seems to float. During the journey, the children's dreams come true; they end up in an imaginative world with different dance forms from hip-hop such as popping, robotics, tutting and waving, with live sounds and music from a beatboxer.

Sribi Switi (Surinamese for 'sleep well') is a playful performance with a universal story, inspired by both well-known Dutch and Surinamese children's stories and children's songs.

The children's show Sribi Switi is a Lloydscompany production. Lloydscompany brings dancers/upcoming urban makers and the underground battle scene together. The company produces theater performances and builds a bridge between the street and the stage.

Founder Lloyd Marengo grew up in the rough Rotterdam of the 1980s and learned to dance in the street. In the 1990s, his hangout in Rotterdam West became the epicenter of hip-hop. Lloyd was one of the 010 B-boys who achieved worldwide success and put Rotterdam hip hop and street culture on the map. Lloyd is one of the founders of the Hiphophuis, he has worked with Scapino and Conny Janssen Danst, among others, and his work has been shown during the Nederlandse Dansdagen and at Koninklijk Theater Carré (Amsterdam).
